Coves of Benissa

There’s nothing like being near the sea to recover the calm lost in the day to day and regain strength to continue facing the routine. It is true that you have many options at your disposal, but today we want to tell you about one that is not so well known, but that you will love: discovering some of the coves of Benissa.

Which are the coves of Benissa?

Before getting to know the coves of Benissa, we would like you to know that it is one of the most charming towns in the area. It is located in the northwest of Alicante, in the Marina Alta region. Although perhaps not as well known as other towns in the area, the truth is that it is a perfect destination to spend your holidays or at least a day at the beach.

This town stands out for its particular orography, with a coastline made up of coves and cliffs, but also with mountainous areas. The appearance of its streets has a medieval air and it has a historic quarter that is well worth a visit.

Now it is time for you to get to know the six coves of Benissa.

1.    Les Bassetes Cove

Cala Les Bassetes is formed by a natural tongue of land and also by the marina. The latter offers you the possibility of enjoying different water sports, such as water skiing or sailing.

The cove is located to the south of the coast of this town and very close to Calpe. Its waters are very calm and shallow. That is why the area is so suitable for practising some water sports.

2.   Fustera Beach

Platja de la Fustera is actually a beach in the shape of a cove. You will love to discover this unique place. You will find a small promenade where you can enjoy different activities in summer. You will also be able to contemplate the entire coastline formed by the towns of Benissa and Calpe.

Fustera Beach.

It is a perfect destination for families. The children will enjoy the children’s playground, the beach bars, different water activities or having a drink in a picnic area. The children and their parents will do this.

The beach is very well looked after and has a lifeguard. It has received several awards and is a perfect place to spend a day at the beach.

3.   The Pinets Cove

Cala dels Pinets is another perfect place for everyone, also for families with children. Its waters are very calm and shallow, and it does not have a big swell.

However, it is not a sandy beach, but a beach of pebbles, gravel and rocks. You can also take advantage of your visit to go on some excursions in the area.

4.   LLobella Cove

Cala LLobella is undoubtedly the most natural and wildest cove. It is also the least crowded. In addition, you can practice different water sports. It is a perfect place for those who want to say goodbye to the routine of everyday life and let themselves be carried away by the essence of the area. In this case, the beach is not sandy either, but pebbles.

5.   Advocat Cove

You will love visiting the Advocat cove and strolling along its breakwater. You will also enjoy watching the fishermen who visit the area, especially if you go very early in the morning. The waters are an incredible blue and if you want to have a drink, there is a beach bar in the area.

This beach is sandy, although you can reach the water directly through the breakwater. It has an area protected from the waves where you can rest after swimming in the sea.

6.   Baladrar Cove

We finish our tour of the coves of Benissa at Cala del Baladrar. Once again we come across a pebble beach. In the area you will discover a cliff and all the services you need to spend the day at the beach.

It is an ideal place to practice different water sports. It is located at the foot of the Sester ravine and the cove can be reached by going down a staircase. You will find shallow turquoise waters. In addition, the orography means that you won’t get wind and you can be calm. You will be surprised to observe its abundant fauna and flora.

It is quite possible that you know some of the towns in the area, such as Benidorm, Altea or Calpe, but you have not yet visited Benissa. Now you know that it is also a destination not to be missed.

We say this because it is clear that discovering the coves of Benissa is always a good plan. It will be even more so if you discover them while you enjoy spending a few days at our campsite. So don’t wait any longer and contact us for your next holiday.
