There are some museums in Alicante that are perfect for families. Not only will you like them, but the little ones will also be fascinated. They are inexpensive and enriching, a different option for those who are looking for something more than sun and beach. We will tell you about the most interesting ones.

  1. MARQ

El MuThe Provincial Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ), located in the city of Alicante, is one of the most important museums in the province. It presents a series of exhibitions, some of which are temporary and others permanent, which show how different civilisations have passed through the Mediterranean.

Among the things on display are objects thousands of years old that belonged to the first inhabitants of the region. There are also scale recreations of dwellings and lots of information about the origins of the Mediterranean peoples and settlements in the area.

  1. Toy Museum

What better way for a child to learn than by playing. One of the museums for children that you cannot miss if you have children is the Toy Museum, located in Ibi. For a modest price, you can enjoy with your little ones to see the almost 500 pieces on display.

Seeing many of the toys on display is sure to bring back a multitude of memories. For your children it will be an enriching experience that will allow them to understand how different things used to be. It will help them understand that the world was different and that there has been a great evolution in the manufacture of these enjoyable objects created for fun.

  1. Pottery Museum

There is nothing better to keep traditions alive than to teach your children how things were made in the past. At the Agost Pottery Museum they will learn about different objects made with clay. Your children will understand what the raw materials are, where they come from and how they are worked to obtain the results they see before their eyes.

  1. Palaeontological Museum

Hands up for those who like dinosaurs! Well, in the small Archaeological Museum of Elche there are reproductions of dinosaurs, bones, a multitude of fossils and much more. Among the museums in the city of Alicante is the Gravina Museum of Fine Arts. Here, young and old alike can enjoy truly amazing exhibitions with works by some of Alicante’s most important artists.
