5 places to spend New Year’s Eve in Spain

Potes

This municipality in Cantabria is one of the most beautiful in the country and is one of those places that will always appear on lists of recommended places to visit. And no wonder. A mountainous environment and a green landscape surround its houses at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level.

It is perfect for a rural getaway because it is located at the beginning of the Picos de Europa, where endless trails are waiting for you to explore. A perfect destination for a New Year’s Eve with a difference, and one that won’t have to leave your caravan behind.

Valencia

One of the most beautiful cities in Spain at this time of the year, with the advantage that it is not as crowded as Madrid or Barcelona. The festive and Christmas atmosphere is present throughout the city. You’re sure to want to come back again if you visit one year.

As you can imagine, the centre of the party is the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Hundreds of people come to welcome the new year in the heart of Valencia. Fireworks, performances, music… And much more!

City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia.

You can also take advantage of the getaway to do some sightseeing around the city, as there are key points, such as the City of Arts and Sciences or the Turia Gardens, which are a must-see. Another plan we love is to enjoy the first sunrise of the year at the Malvarrosa Beach.

Andorra la Vella

If you want a snowy New Year’s Eve, this is an unforgettable destination. But prepare your trip well and get your caravan ready for the road. Eating grapes after skiing all day, or hiking through the wilderness, is a delight that more and more people are choosing. The city also offers everything you might need for your trip, and you’re sure to get some printable images of your visit to the city.

Málaga

The Andalusian city has been recognised for many years as one of the cities with the most beautiful Christmas decorations. In fact, there is a light show on the famous Calle Larios, as well as video mapping on the Cathedral Tower.

The New Year is welcomed in the Plaza de la Constitución and is received with a concert in the most emblematic place in the city. Later in the evening, there are all the nightclubs you can imagine to welcome in the New Year.

If you are coming to Malaga on New Year’s Eve with your caravan or motorhome, we recommend that you find a place on the outskirts of the city to leave it, as it is a complicated city for these vehicles.

Benidorm

As it couldn’t be any other way, we won’t close this list without mentioning our beloved city of Benidorm. The amount of options you have here to spend New Year’s Eve is infinite. There are atmospheres, restaurants, clubs and bars to suit all tastes and, above all, all budgets – if Benidorm is famous for anything, it’s for all the partying that goes with it!

The first celebrations on 31 December usually start early in the evening. For many years now, giant screens have been the protagonists in the streets of the city to watch the ringing of the bells, as is the case on the famous Paseo de Levante. As you can imagine, the atmosphere is incredible and the whole city is ready to make you spend a New Year’s Eve that you won’t easily forget.
